1st April can’t always be taken seriously – but, this year, it saw an important milestone for Lymington.
Mayor of Lymington, Cllr. Anna Rostand, chose the day to launch the ‘Burrard Neale 250’ campaign – to raise the profile of forgotten local hero Admiral Sir Harry Burrard Neale and to restore the monuments to Sir Harry to their former glory.
Representatives of the three organisations forming the project partnership – Lymington & Pennington Town Council, the Lymington Society and Hampshire Gardens Trust – gathered at the Walhampton Monument to mark the occasion and offer the Mayor their backing, together with supporters from the National Park Authority and St. Barbe Museum & Art Gallery
