September 16th 2015 was the 250th anniversary of Sir Harry’s birth and the Burrard Neale 250 team started a day of celebrations with the unveiling of new signs at the Walhampton Monument. At the unveiling was the Mayor Cllr Michael White, Town Clerk Caroline Godfrey, the crew of HMS Smiter, local school children from Pennington and Lymington, members of the Lymington Society and friends of the project. Also present were a fife and drum band who helped raise everyone’s spirits despite the drizzle. BBC South Today was on hand to report the event.
